Why is birch so stinking pretty?
I don’t really get into the rustic look but for some reason anytime I see birch decor I swoon.
I’ve also found that birch doesn’t have to mean plain or boring. You can dress up any birch decor with bright and colorful florals or accessories.
That’s exactly what happened with these gorgeous (and totally easy) vases.
Supplies for Dollar Tree Faux Birch Vases
Paint Brush
Dollar Tree Tissue Paper Pack (it has the birch and white in it along with a few other types)
Scissors
Step 1
Start by folding the both the white and birch tissue paper in half.
Step 2
Next starting from one end of the tissue paper, roll one of your vases on it so you know where to trim off the excess.
Step 3
Then apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to one of your vases.
Step 4
After your vase is coated in Mod Podge apply the white tissue paper only to the vase. Allow the Mod Podge to dry completely before moving on.
Step 5
Once the vase is dry, apply another thin layer of mod podge on top of the white tissue paper.
Step 6
Next, apply the birch tissue paper to the vase. I let mine crinkle in spots so it would look more realistic.
Step 7
After your vase is completely dry, add another thin layer of Mod Podge on top of the birch tissue paper layer to seal it. Allow your vase to dry completely before using.
Step 8 (Optional)
Repeat steps 1 through 7 with your second vase to make a pair.
Tips and Tricks
Be sure to coat the top and bottom edges of your tissue paper on the vases so that it sits flat and doesn’t catch on your flowers or anything else you put in it.
Fill your vases with beautiful flowers of your choice. I do recommend using fake flowers because these vases are not submersible for washing.
