I’m getting an early start on Mother’s Day this year because I’m holding out hope that we will be able to get together with ours in May.

It feels like we missed so much last year, including Mother’s Day.

At one point I went 2 months without seeing my mom and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.

This year I really want to make time for the grandmas on Mother’s Day. I can’t do that if I’m scrambling at the last minute to get gifts and cards done.

Even if we can’t get together with our moms this year, we can add some sunshine to their day with these beautiful little displays!

Materials for Mini Canvas Mother’s Day Gifts

• 3 Mini Canvases from Dollar Tree

• Black Acrylic Paint

• Small Flat Paint Brush

• 3D Floral Stickers from Dollar Tree

• 3 Black Wire Photo Stands from Dollar Tree

Step 1

First, paint each of your mini canvases with a coat of black acrylic paint. Allow them to dry completely before moving on or your stickers won’t stick

There is no need for a second coat because you want some the of the white to show through the brush strokes. This allows it to match the chalkboard feel of the stickers.

Step 2

After your paint is dry, grab one of your mini canvases and add the watering can sticker to slightly above the bottom right corner of your canvas.

Step 3

Next, add the potted purple flowers stickers to the left of the watering can. Then add the hat sticker slightly below between them.

The hat sticker should slightly overlap the flower stickers.

Step 4

Lastly, add the word “Thankful” sticker to the top of the canvas.

Step 5

Now grab your second painted canvas and attach the stacked teacups with flowers on the right side of your canvas.

The saucer at the bottom of the sticker should be in the bottom right corner.

Step 6

Then attach the teapot full of flowers sticker to the left side of the canvas.

Step 7

Lastly, attach the “Good Times” sticker to the top center of the canvas.

Carefully pull up on the top flower in your teacups sticker so that it overlaps on top of the books in the “Good Times” sticker and not the other way around.

Step 8

For the third canvas, turn it so that it is wider than it is tall. Then attach the flower truck sticker to the top center of the canvas.

Step 9

Next add the potter flowers on a shelf sticker to the bottom left of the canvas covering the front wheel of the truck.

Step 10

Lastly, add the basket of flowers sticker to the bottom right of your canvas and the “Thank You” sign to the top left.

Step 11

Add your canvases to the photo stands and you’re done!

Tips and Tricks

• After all of your stickers have been arranged on the canvas, flip the canvas over and firmly press down on the backs of sticker areas. This will make sure you get a stronger bond to the canvas.

• I don’t recommend using chalk paint on this project because it covers more efficiently in one coat than acrylic paint. You really want to make sure those brush strokes show through.
