This past year I let pretty much all of my fitness goals go by the wayside. I was more focused on surviving all of this than making something amazing of it.
The result is 20 extra pounds on top of the mom weight I was already trying to lose. Now, I’m ready to tackle those goals again and absolutely crush them.
I saw the idea for this project shared on the Official Cricut Facebook Page. Her jars said “Pounds Down” and “Pounds to Go” which is brilliant, but I wanted something I could use even after achieving my weight loss goals.
That chalkboard vinyl labels on these jars mean I can erase the goals and write new ones.
DIY Visualization Jars Materials
2 Empty Glass Jars
SVG Files – Left to Go, Done, Label
Black Matte Permanent Vinyl
Transfer Tape
Weeding Tool
Scraper or Brayer
Step 1 – Cut Out Your SVG Files
First, download the SVG files in the materials list above. Then upload to Cricut Design Space and open in a new project.
Cut the sayings out in your matte black vinyl. Then remove them and cut 2 labels from the chalkboard vinyl.
Step 2 – Trim and Weed Your Designs
After your sayings and labels are cut, trim around them and cut them apart so that each design is separate.
Next, weed the designs with your tool.
Step 3 – Add Transfer Tape
Once your designs are weeded, cover each one with a piece of transfer tape.
Go over the transfer tape with your scraper tool or brayer to ensure that it is firmly attached to the designs.
Step 4 – Attach Designs to Jars
Lastly, peel the backing from your designs and transfer tape. Then align on your jars and attach.
Again, go over them with your scraper or brayer to make sure that they are well adhered to the jars.
How to Clean Candle Jars
If you can’t find any empty candle jars at your local thrift store (mine only had one), you can clean ones you already have at home.
Start by removing the labels and stickers. Then soak them in very hot water until the wax has softened.
Then use a rubber spatula to remove the soft was from inside the jars.
Lastly, clean them with soap and water. Allow them to dry completely before adding your vinyl to them.
Ideas for Using Visualization Jars
Of course, there are tons of ways that you can use your jars to visualize your goals and stay on track.
Weight Loss
This is what I’m currently using my jars for but what happens after you achieve your goal? That’s why I made these with chalk labels, so they can be used goal after goal.
Vacation
Need to save up for your next vacation? These are the perfect way to visualize your savings and reach your goals.
Positive Reinforcement
Another great use for these jars is to reinforce positive behavior with your kiddos. Choose the amount of positive behaviors that need to be caught before earning a reward. Then put a bead, pompom, or button from the Left to Go jar into the Done jar each time you catch one of your children doing something awesome!
Make a Habit
You can also use these jars to make a new habit. Choose one habit and write it on your labels. Then fill the Left to Go jar with 30 counters of your choice.
Each day that you complete your new habit, move one counter to the Done jar.

Your jars look so cute for goal motivation and I like your idea of making the jars multi-purpose instead of just one goal. Great upcycle for candle jars!
